Why, what, and how should education system transform?

We’ve had the same education system in place for more than a century. The educational system has crumbled as a result of rote learning, pressure to complete the curriculum, and insufficient teacher preparation.  But now is the moment to accept the new world we are already a part of. We cannot pretend to be deaf and ignore how drastically our society has changed. It is now time for change in the Indian educational system so that the student remains at the centre of learning.

Now, the question is why transform the education system?

“What does this concept mean?” The same curriculum that was effective a few decades ago is what we are using now. There is a knowledge gap since the pupils are unable to relate to the course material.

The current generation of students and the leaders of tomorrow live in a borderless, socially interactive society. Academic materials, curricula, and technological advancements should be adjusted to the sometimes highly connected world we live in in order to better serve today’s students.

The traditional gurukul system fostered innovation, experimentation, hands-on learning, and creativity. The current educational system in India lacks the capacity to encourage kids to be imaginative or creative enough for them to master these crucial abilities.

What is changing the educational system?

We contend that in order to transform the educational system, it is necessary to reexamine its objectives to determine whether they are still relevant to the time we are in. Whether or not they are tackling inequality and promoting resilience in the face of global change.

How to transform the education system?

Many authorities are currently thinking about how to transform the educational system. As they transition from the COVID-19 school closures to a new normal of living with a pandemic, ministers of education around the world are attempting to rebuild better. Make interdependence and connectivity the driving force behind all learning, including digital, physical, human, ecological, and political.
Stop asserting that all kids will be proficient. Students should create their own quality standards and frameworks to aid in their understanding.
Celebrate learning by recognising learning models; instead of relying on historical names and meaningless mascots, every institution is known for employing this model and strategy. Accept that there is no one ideal method of teaching or learning.
